The most common slide gate repair is a loose or dangling chain. Your slide gate will show signs of jerking when your chain is too loose. For every 10′ of gate 1″ of hanging is required for the slide gate operator to function properly.
The second most common slide gate repair is some type of obstruction on the track or the guide rollers bearing have broken causing the gate to stop moving. Debris, rocks, or track sinking can also cause the slide gate to stop working.
The third most common slide gate repair are the limits have stopped working properly. They are plastic and the teeth on the limit nut can strip causing the slide gate to stop opening or closing.
